Since its incorporation in 2006, the primary mission of the Woodland Educational Foundation has been "to creatively generate and distribute resources with which to enrich and enhance the opportunities of educational experiences of Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50 students". Through generous donations from various businesses as part of their annual golf outings in August, and the ongoing gifts being received from families and community members, the Foundation has generated thousands of dollars to support staff and students in carrying out its mission through the Staff Grant Program. The purpose of Staff Grants is to provide the supplemental resources needed for staff to implement innovative projects that enhance the educational experience of Woodland School District 50 students. Specifically, awarding Staff Grants supports the Foundation's purpose by:
Thanks to the generosity of the Woodland Educational Foundation, my grant proposal for a SMART Board 680 on a mobile floor stand was accepted.
The funding of this grant was made possible due to the generous donations made by various businesses, Woodland families, and staff. I am excited to put this new technology to use in my classroom and to share my knowledge with the rest of my colleagues at Woodland Elementary West!
